FUNCTIONAL | ENGAGING | GROWTH
Honey Green Milestones is a private pediatric occupational therapy practice. As pediatric occupational therapists we focus on promoting the function and engagement of children and families in everyday life or "occupations." Our therapists are passionate about delivering quality, innovative and client-centered strategies to help children meet life's milestones. We provide this through services in our clinic and in natural environments (homes, child care facilities, preschools, etc). We serve ages birth to 21 and are experienced in a wide-range of disabilities and diagnoses.
Honey Green Milestones currently offers pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and subsequent individual 30 to 60-minute pediatric occupational therapy treatment sessions. We provide these services at our Henderson clinic as well as in children's natural environments.
We service the following counties of North Carolina: Durham, Franklin, Granville, North Wake and Vance Counties.
We are in-network to provide early intervention (birth to 3) occupational therapy services with the Durham and Raleigh Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs).
We offer partnerships with local child care facilities and preschools for annual occupational therapy screenings and subsequent services as needed. Additionally, we contract with local K-12 programs to provide school-based occupational therapy services.
We accept most major insurances, self-pay and NC Medicaid.
Honey Green Milestones is a therapist owned and operated pediatric occupational therapy practice.
Established in 2017 to provide individualized, innovative, quality, caring, and coordinated occupational therapy services within the context of the child's natural ability. We work to make a connection between your child's current needs and their natural abilities, using skilled interventions to maximize their functional independence.
Our goal is to be a valued resource for children and their families when it comes their child’s development and navigation of the world around them.
Pediatric occupational therapists address the needs of children who may have a developmental delay, disability or other health challenge through therapeutic intervention to promote the attainment of age-related life skills or "occupations." In order to therapeutically assist a child in meeting their full potential the occupational therapist may use compensatory strategies and adaptations or modifications to equipment, environments or activities. These approaches are individualized and collaborative with families and other health care professionals, while being implemented in a sensory rich, supportive and positive environment.
Your Pediatric Occupational Therapist May Address the Below Skills:
The ability to use both sides of the body at the same time.
Tasks one's brain performs that are necessary to think, act and solve problems.
Activities such as personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing, eating), functional mobility (the ability to move around in one's environment) and community management (grocery shopping, driving, taking public transportation, managing finances).
Obtaining and interpreting visual information from the environment; includes spatial relationships, matching, sequential memory, scanning, sorting, form constancy, figure ground and closure.
Recording language by hand, often by using a paper and pen or pencil.
Obtaining and translating visual information from the environment into coordinated motor functioning or hand movements; includes printing, drawing, forming shapes and coloring.
The way a person's nervous systems receive sensory input (sights, sounds, movement, taste and touch) and adapts their emotional expression, behavioral activity level, and attention/arousal level in response.
The use of precise and coordinated movements of the fingers and hands.
Ability to manipulate restive materials, moving against gravity, sustaining body positions.
Limits in the arc of motion in which joints of the fingers, arms, legs, neck or other body parts move.
The skills we use to communicate and interact with each other, both verbally and non-verbally, through gestures, body language and our personal appearance.
Brittney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before beginning her career as an occupational therapist, Brittney worked with children, teens and their families in a variety of roles including as a mentor, behavioral assistant, employment specialist for a transition, school to employment program (S.T.E.P) and a nursery attendant. She also worked with adults with psychological and developmental disabilities as a job coach.
She has always had a passion for assisting people to reach their fullest potential and has consistently found herself studying about and working in helping roles. As an occupational therapist Brittney has worked with ages birth through end of life and with a wide array of diagnoses. She began her occupational therapy career as a geriatric occupational therapist. She has been a travel, staff and PRN occupational therapist in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and continuing care retirement communities. She eventually worked simultaneously in pediatrics, geriatrics, and industrial sports medicine. As a pediatric occupational therapist Brittney has held various full and part-time occupational therapy positions within the school system, private clinics, homes and other natural environments.
Her experience working across the lifespan in so many settings with both typically developing children and children/adults with special needs gives her a unique and global perspective when designing intervention plans and therapeutic activities. After seeing a great need for pediatric occupational therapy in the rural communities neighboring Wake County, North Carolina, Brittney founded Honey Green Milestones, PLLC. Here she is dedicated in supporting children and families to more fully participate in their communities.

Brittany is a graduate of Durham Technical Community College. She is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who is a licensed practitioner for the state of North Carolina. She has experience working in pediatric home health, outpatient rehab, inpatient rehab, and acute care.
Brittany spent her teenage and young adult years working with children in a summer camp environment with experience helping campers with special abilities to be able to meaningfully engage in all the activities available. There she helped preschool-aged children adapt to a new culture as well helped them prepare for school with such skills as learning English.
Her heart for helping others, especially children, is evident throughout her life. OT allows her to live out this passion in a fun and fulfilling way every day. Outside of OT, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing the piano, outdoor adventures, and the beach.
